A threshold is an operational setting

Treat a threshold change as a change to queue volume, reviewer workload, and error costs.

Translate the threshold into work

A change from 0.82 to 0.78 matters to an operator because it affects how many cases arrive and which cases cross the line. Compare queue size and the most important error types at both thresholds, with a separate view of high-volume days.

Keep the rollout reversible

Version the threshold with the rule or model it applies to. Record who owns the change, when it takes effect, and how to restore the previous value. Review recent cases near the boundary before you switch.

Watch the queue after the switch

Track age of the oldest unreviewed case, arrival volume, disposition, and the number of cases that were escalated or deferred. Agree on the observation window and rollback condition before the change so the on-call operator can act promptly.
