Trace Relay
A proposed event intake layer that would preserve source evidence and support reproducible replay.
The problem
Source corrections and late arrivals are routine. Replacing the latest value in place can make it impossible to reproduce what a consumer saw before a correction reached the pipeline.
Proposed workflow
Trace Relay would keep original observations and corrections, assign stable event identities, record both source and arrival time, and allow replay over a bounded interval. Consumers would receive normalized fields alongside references to the source record.
What a prototype would test
We would test replay determinism, duplicate handling, and whether teams can distinguish a source correction from a delivery retry. A representative event stream and one downstream consumer would be enough to define the first evaluation.
